Like most kids growing up, sports was a major influence on my life. The countless hours of playing basketball during summers is something I miss most now that I can barely run a quarter of a mile. Plus, being sucked into the drama of pro and college sports, hearing the cliches for the first time, and buying into all the excitement was proof that sports is the ultimate reality TV.
Over the years I had found myself being less excited for the Sunday NFL matchups, or didn’t have the interest in flipping on the TV to watch a random basketball game, until I started to place a bet on games in order to feel like I had a stake in the action.
This is a horrible and painful way to get into sports betting. New emotions bubble up when you start to bet. I can’t even count how many times that I or a friend of mine have screamed “It’s a lock!” and proceeded to wonder what happened once the time ran out. I have also had my share of wins that were one hell of a sweat, but nothing is sweeter than being on the right side!
Not being able to bet is no fun, and slowly, the country will agree that the action is a necessary part of the game. I have spent countless hours trying to find a way to take the emotion out of sports betting, crunching numbers from previous games to see if the line can be exposed. I don’t run thousands of simulations (I wish!), I am a one man operation that has a frustrating fascination with spreadsheets, numbers, and the possibility of those numbers giving me insight as to what to bet.
I’m excited to share my predictions and results, and look forward to winning together! Please reach out with any questions or comments,
