First off, I have to say, I planned on finding some clip from NBA Jam and bragging about how I’m on fire. But why not just stay humble and post this instead on my 5-0 streak.
That’s right, thanks to Sebastian Janikowski having the worst leg injury of the night (joking!), Seattle decided to go for 2 down by four late in the game. If you hopped on my free bet tip of Seattle +2.5, you got the cover! Ah, but how quickly the glory fades, its time now to look ahead to today.
LA Chargers @ Baltimore Ravens – 1:05pm – CBS
Man this game could be a trap. All signs point to a revenge match that the Chargers have been licking their chops for since their Dec. 22nd loss at Baltimore. Will the team bounce back and begin the quest for Philip Rivers to win a Super Bowl? Before I get to the free NFL bet tip for today, let’s take a look at the teams.
Baltimore Ravens (10-6)
Ever since Lamar Jackson has been plugged in at QB, the Ravens have gone 6-1. The offense has become a run heavy attack with Jackson handling the rush duties more than Gus Edwards! The pass attack is not quite an afterthought, but they rely heavily for the ground game to open up any air options.
Now, on to the other side of the ball. This is where Baltimore has been shining all year long, and no point of reference will be more relevant than how they held the Chargers to under 200 passing yards. There is an argument to be had that LA did have a playoff spot clinched already in that first matchup. Maybe that will play a factor today, since it’s now win or go home.
LA Chargers (12-4)
Revenge factor is really hard to measure in sports. It comes up quite often, but to find out if you are elite, you have to take advantage of the opportunities to erase the perils of the past. How’s that for a bunch of cliches. But seriously, this Chargers team is really good.
You have already heard of Philip Rivers, potential MVP candidate who threw for 32 TD’s and over 8.5 yards per completion this year. His favorite target this year Keenan Allen caught 97 passes all year and racked up the majority of the yards in the air for LA. This team also has a healthy Melvin Gordon back, not only leading the run game, but able to slip out for receptions of his own. He is the second leading receiver for the team.
Defensively LA has to love that Joey Bosa is back and healthy. He is a huge presence and has four sacks since returning from injury six weeks ago. The rest of the team is still banged up, so if Baltimore can get long drives, depth will come into question defensively.
If LA can start off in rhythm, I expect this offense to be too much for Baltimore to handle. Rivers has to have a near perfect game, and that may set up plenty of attack options both in the air and on the ground. That being said, I have had a feeling about these Ravens ever since I watched them fluster the Chargers two weeks ago.
Lamar Jackson brings a wrinkle that the NFL always seems to bring into fashion, then watch it disappear. A mobile quarterback that can still hurt you with his arm is the dream, and this dream is real. Plus, the defense has shown in the past few weeks that they can hold when they need to, and arent afraid to press their advantages. Mistakes will be the difference in this game, and I think Baltimore might get more bounces their way. My free NFL bet tip for today is to take the Ravens. Less than a field goal should be no problem right? Just ask those Dallas bettors 🙂
