7pm – ESPNU
First off, mini pat on the back to myself for picking the over in last nights championship game. At first it looked like it would sail in before the half, but Clemson shut down Alabama’s offense and it took most of the game to get the points needed for a win.

Texas Longhorns (10-4, 2-0 Big 12 conference)
Shaka Smart has his Texas team playing pretty good ball so far this year. After a three game hiccup right after Thanksgiving, the team has gone 5-1. Oklahoma State isn’t the toughest place to play, but like always, being on the road in college basketball equals no guarantees.
Senior Kerwin Roach Jr. leads a trio of starters who average double digit points each game. Coming in right under that mark points wise, but extremely important to the team is the Freshman Jaxson Hayes. Expect Hayes to have some extra chances to score down low, since Oklahoma State doesn’t have the presence in the paint that he will face later in the Big 12.
Oklahoma St (6-8, 0-2 Big 12 conference)
The defensive pressure (or lack thereof) tonight will be the main focus for the Cowboys. As a team, OK State is long, rangy, and can be in the right spots for periods of time in the game. If they can get an early lead and put pressure on Texas to keep up, this game could go either way.
Kicking off the Big 12 schedule with back to back losses, the Cowboys are hoping to defend home court tonight and get a win in the conference. Junior Cameron McGriff is one of three lengthy starters who help clog the lanes defensively, and can put up points as well. Before nine points in the loss to Oklahoma, McGriff had 15, 15, and 17 points for OK State in their last four games. He is also the leading rebounder for the team, averaging eight a game.
For tonights free bet tip, I am going against what I always say is a tough bet. Anytime there is a road favorite in college with teams like these early on in the year, nothing is a guarantee. However, I think Texas will be too much for Oklahoma State overall to match up with, and expect a cover in tonights game.
