7pm – FS1
What a heartbreaking loss last night for OKC. Down by as many as 17 at one point, they came back to force double OT. LaMarcus Aldridge had the game of his life, and once Steven Adams was hobbled late it was LA’s party.
Back to square one. I need to get a win under my belt before playoff football. So let’s see if I can hit a free bet tip going into the weekend. If you want to sign up for more than just one tip a day, subscribe to my newsletter. I try to post daily picks, and will send extra leans to your inbox.
Indiana Hoosiers (12-3, 3-1 Big Ten)
Winners of seven straight before running into #2 Michigan, the Hoosiers are on the road looking for a big win against Maryland tonight. The biggest downfall for this squad is the injury factor, which may determine the outcome against the Terps.
As of this morning, the list of questionables could be as many as three to four players for Indiana. Against Michigan, all starters clocked 28 minutes or more, with only three players off the bench. Luckily, there are some young, talented players that can soak up some of those minutes and really produce for Indiana.
Romeo Langford was named the Freshman of the Week in the Big Ten, averaging 22.5 points, six rebounds, and 2.5 assists. He has been a key and consistent piece for IU, and the offense needs him to be on point tonight.
Maryland Terrapins (13-3, 4-1 Big Ten)
This team seems to have some slight advantages coming into this game. The overall size of the roster may give fits to the depleted Hoosiers; and if IU gets in foul trouble early, finding healthy players might be impossible.
Featuring their own Big Ten Freshman of the Week, Jalen Smith is currently third on the team in points per game, and second in rebounds. Smith also had an impressive box score in his last game vs. Minnesota, scoring 21 and grabbing 8 rebounds in a road win.
The team as a whole comes in hot, winners of their last four games, with back to back road wins against Rutgers and Minnesota. Playing host to the Hoosiers sees them as a 5.5 point favorite as of right now.
Indiana has hung tough on the road, minus one blowout loss to Duke. If Maryland can jump out to a lead early and force the Hoosiers to play catch up all night, the offense should be enough to put IU down for good. If Maryland can force turnovers and capitalize, the cover is theirs for the taking.
For my free bet tip, I think this game still comes down to who makes the least amount of mistakes. Indiana still has quality players that know how to compete. The question is, will they be able to defend the length of Maryland and keep them from scoring.
Maryland has been setting the tone, and Indiana is not a defensive juggernaut. Both offenses have lapses and I don’t expect a shootout game. I am going to hop on the under and watch Maryland duke out a close one.
